The Selection Economy™ #13: The New Competitive Advantage

    By Susan Pieper, Claimed™

Every company seems to be asking the same question.

    How do we use AI?

    It's an important question.

I just don't think it's the most important one.

The reality is that AI tools are becoming widely available.

    Your competitors have them.

    Your customers have them.

Soon, the technology itself won't be the advantage.

The advantage will come from something much harder to copy.

    Being understood.

When someone asks AI to recommend a business, it isn't simply rewarding the companies that use AI.

It's recommending the companies it understands.

    The ones with clear positioning.

    Consistent language.

    Visible expertise.

    A strong digital record.

    Trust.

    Technology is becoming abundant.

    Meaning isn't.

That's why I believe the next competitive advantage isn't AI itself.

It's becoming the company that is easiest to understand—and easiest to recommend.

I think we're entering a new era of business.

Not one defined by who has the best technology.

But by who communicates their value most clearly.

The businesses that invest in clarity today will become easier to discover, easier to trust, and ultimately, easier to choose.

And I suspect we're only at the beginning.
