The Selection Economy™ #12: What AI Can't See

    By Susan Pieper, Claimed™

Every week, someone asks me whether AI is going to replace marketers, consultants, agencies—or even executives.

    I don't think that's the right question.

    AI can read your website.

    It can summarize your expertise.

It can compare products, pricing, and services.

It can identify patterns across thousands of companies in seconds.

But there are still things it can't experience.

It can't sit across the table from someone whose judgment has been earned over decades.

It can't understand the confidence that comes from working with someone who consistently keeps their promises.

    It can't measure integrity.

    Or resilience.

    Or character.

Those qualities still shape every important business decision.

In fact, I think they matter even more.

The opportunity for leaders isn't to replace those qualities with AI.

It's to make them easier to discover.

For years, much of a company's reputation lived in conversations.

Today, part of that reputation also lives in its digital presence.

The businesses that thrive won't simply have better technology.

They'll do a better job of making the invisible visible—through their ideas, their expertise, their customer stories, and the trust they've earned over time.

    Technology can help us discover.

People still decide whom to trust.

And I suspect they always will.
